Vinyl Louver Fence Installation in Orlando
This Orlando homeowner wanted privacy but not a wall. A vinyl louver style fence gives you both, and holds up better than wood in the Florida climate.

What does a louver style vinyl fence actually do?
A louver fence uses angled vertical boards instead of flat boards butted edge to edge. Looking straight on from the street you see a solid wall. Looking at the fence from an angle you see between the boards. The airflow through the louvers keeps the fence line from feeling closed in, which is a big deal in a Central Florida backyard where the afternoon breeze is what makes the space usable. A solid privacy fence blocks that airflow. A chain link fence blocks nothing at all. A louver fence hits the middle ground. For this Orlando homeowner the driver was a neighboring lot that had gotten busy over the years. They wanted the view of that lot broken up from the primary sightlines in their yard but they did not want to feel walled off from their own property.

Why vinyl instead of a wood louver fence?
You can build a louver fence in wood. We build them regularly. The reason this owner went with vinyl is that a louver panel has more edges exposed to weather than a flat privacy panel does. Every louver board has water landing on more surfaces per foot of fence than a butted board would. In wood that means faster weathering at the top and bottom of every board, and eventually the need for a stain refresh to keep the fence from graying. Vinyl does not need any of that. The material carries the same lifetime manufacturer warranty as our other PVC products. It will not warp, it will not rot, and it will not need to be refinished, which is the whole reason many customers pick vinyl in the first place. For this owner it was the right long term call.
How did the fence sit against the corner and left run of the yard?
The two photos show the corner of the property and the left side of the run. Both are shot from the yard side looking toward the property line. The louvers sit at a uniform angle from post to post, the top rail is dead level, and the corner post is plumb without any lean. The vinyl reads bright against the sod and gives the whole yard a clean visual boundary. Every post on this install is set 3 feet deep in concrete like all our work. For more on vinyl options our vinyl fence page walks through heights and styles, and our semi private fence page covers other options that balance privacy with airflow.
